I write
through the chaos of thought
Seeking sense
within this labyrinth
Organizing Chaos, R. Miranda
The ancient Greeks gave us Chaos, the shadowy realm of mass and energy that we know as the universe. It is the swirling dark that fills our fears … and lights our imaginations. In his poem Organizing Chaos, R. Miranda sorts through his ideas in blue ball point pen and with a few simple lines he sketches structure. We’ve collected a group of poems that mine the dark to pull faith into the light.
Imagination by Anthony “Crow” Linebaugh
Holy Men tell us,
Life is a mystery
And we embrace this thought,
So happily
But, some mysteries bite,
And then they bark
And swallow our lives
Revelation 8:16:2020 by Dustin Smith
I sat secured behind cold concrete walls,
Captivated by this catastrophe,
Wondering if angels had sounded off
Three more brass blasts as the sky turned blood red.
It slowly darkened as the blood congealed
Until daylight was consumed by darkness.
lo kh’loom by Albert Wright
... and I wonder, at times, how I survived. My mind tries to grasp but it's ever fleeting as the wind.
On Eagle’s Wings by Patricia Norenberg
And He will raise you up on eagle’s wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
The Hebrew lo kh’loom translates to mean I don’t know. It is from the unknown that humans create meaning. We make worlds with our words. This is the art of prayer, and poetry, and making sense within the labyrinth. | TDS
