A name never needs be spoken,
for evil always knows
of the wicked deeds which are done
and of new debts now owed.
A life can only end with death,
having kept the mind’s eye closed,
or is it death which brings us life
as time goes on to show.
A new sunrise crests the hills
leaving a valley aglow,
yet sets in the eyes of another
who watches halfway around the world. | JH
The last stanza distills the heart of this poem for me. Well done.
