The kickball kids
hurried to the field
picked their teams
one by one
pick me! They say
arms stretched high
all but one, who
studies his new
kickball shoes
tucks in his shirt
’cause mom said to.
He’s good with math
not so much
kickbalI, so
he understands
that kickball shoes
which are brand new
and tucked in shirts
which mom said
cannot change
odd numbers. | PL
