The rain that falls upon the earth
is the tears of my ancestors. Tears
of joy, pain, and forgiveness — pay attention
and bear witness. They say it’s written
that we were all born God's children,
yet we still end up convicted, tried, and
sentenced by the system, while pretenders
bear false witness, blinded by crooked
politicians, religious wars, and killings —
got us stressed for forgiveness
poverty’s endless. We got to make a
way for our children; eliminating
single mothers to let our babies
have a father figure.
