I know a guy
If you marked each with a dot
Then extrapolated and superimposed on a ceiling
It would look like the night sky
A star chart of wounds
I know a guy
If you connected the dots
Made chain links of interconnectedness
It would look like five busted layers
Of bullet-proof shattered glass
I know a guy
If you looked from inside out
There would be no unsullied space, all scar tissue
It would become hardship just to witness
In words impossible to form
I know a guy
If you knew him, you’d know me
There is one just like him in every heart’s place
It would suffice to say that we are all
One massive scar chart. | JM
