I am not good at expressing my pain, but my mama went home.
I cannot wait to get home, so I can see her smiling face.
My mama’s smiling face is home.
Home is my comfort when I am scared.
Mama went home with the help of Ripp, and he gave her
The greatest walk of her life on Her way home! I will always
Know she’s at home waiting for the streetlights to come on
So I can get home. Her smile always made me feel at home
And safe. Now I have to remember to look at
Mioko and Ripp’s smiling faces because I’ll ser her smiling
Face to let me know that I am safe.
This will always make me feel safe and at home.
Mama on the day we celebrate your “Home Going,” I want
to say thank you for giving me life,
and this beautiful daughter of mine Shan’teal who read this poem. | JBS
