When I first met you, I gave you my heart,
not realizing, it was too good to be true
right from the start.
I gave you the benefit of the doubt because when
you spoke you looked in my eyes.
But your words were termites biting
to the core of me with deceit and alibis.
So tangled in your web of lies that you
don’t seem to know,
The poison you spewed made my heart harden
and the faith I once had in you ceases to show.
Our garden cannot flourish from insults
and ultimatums.
I’ve got a handful of seeds but I’ve got
nowhere to plant ‘em.
I need to love myself again — to rebuild
and to regrow,
and to do what you so easily did with
me, and just Let. You. Go. | SB
