Everything's gonna be alright
Believe in God Son Son and everything will be alright
Everything's gonna be alright
Believe in God Son Son and everything will be alright
My Papa told me that everything is gonna be alright
I believe that because everything that I've been through,
has given me such insight.
I look back throughout my life and
I have no wonder why my papa would always say
Goodnight, I love you and say your prayer's at night.
Life was so easy back then, no stress no meth —
We was just smokin’ the green and jumpin’ on trampolines.
My papa always told me about God,
And he did his best to keep me from drugs and alcohol. But the main thing was —
Everything's gonna be alright
Believe in God Son Son and everything will be alright
Everything's gonna be alright
Believe in God Son Son and everything will be alright
I remember when I was young, I'd sing Hakuna Matata
And my papa would say son, "You know Chata?"
I thought about it for a second,
only to look up at my papa sayin,"Son chata fuck up." ha! ha!
Man, papa I miss you so much.
But now that I look back there was and
always will be worries, struggles, and strife.
But man, papa that didn't stop you
from showing me some of the best things in life.
I still remember that day when you,
me, and mama went down to the river,
and you said Son Son look at the bigger picture.
You opened my mind to the sky, mountains, trees, and grass —
some things that most people in life let pass.
And again he said ...
I remember a lot of bad memories,
ones that could make the hardest fall to their knees
and beg the Lord please.
I've seen you go from a probation officer on the Rez
to laid out in ICU on life support,
And man it was stress.
Some of the hardest things in my life,
That I've had to deal with was askin’ God,
"Is my papa gonna make it thru the night?"
Then there you are coming out of coma,
living life in God's hands,
wantin’ to walk around the hospital,
when you could barely stand.
Now that I've put some thought into it,
anything that I remember of you is a
good memory and you can bet,
I'll still be here to tell you ...
Everything's gonna be alright
Believe in God Papa and everything will be alright
Everything's gonna be alright
Believe in God Papa and everything will be alright
This song is for my papa, Anthony Reyes Sr.,
I want you to know that your Son Son
Believes in God and has faith that,
everything is gonna be alright.
No matter what mountain tries to block my view,
I can still see the beautiful sunrise and sunsets
and tell that Mountain "Oh pew" — ha ha | MR
