The NEAR and FAR cards were printed by Cumbersome Multiples Press on a 1928 Chandler & Price letterpress using antique wooden type. PonyXpress writers wrote a response to the word on the cover. The cards were passed to the next writers and they used the prompt to write on the back.

I lay out below the sky,
Wrapped in the heat of the sun.
In the comfort of the grass we did lie,
Of cares and worries I have none,
In my arms lay my whole life,
In my arms I hold you.
You make me forget all my strife,
All my fears evaporate like morning dew.
I cannot sleep without you at night,
My nightmares begin their attacks.
But when I hold you the world feels right,
It gives me the strength my will lacks.
I can only try to return what you’ve given me,
A gift as pure as a white dove.
The gift that opened my eyes and made me able to see,
That I am real, I can feel, that I can love.
I cherish all of our time together,
Something so beautiful, honest and true.
Wishing to hold you every night forever,
