OCEANS OF DEEP BLUE WATERS

We are strong as water that surrounds us
All the people in the city are free to see us
Where there is no privacy truly needed here in Troy

Bravery comes within facing the ocean’s rage
Fear comes when the gates don’t protect us
Humility can be found when we bow down to those who harm us

Peace can be found in the stillness in the pool
Just outside our front door
Yet the ocean front brings nothing by war

Who do we turn to when we are awash in terror
Our newfound companion of blinding anger
Or our lifelong friend that was sent to school us

Oh wait you took him
And thus you ruined this …
This standoff war that has consumed us

The war of the heart is always present
Can that war ever cease to rule us
Yes, when we can see the resolution

Gaze into the deep blue waters of the ocean
There you can see life take on its meaning
The lesson of conflicts awashed is there for the offering

We can let the sand of the shore
Clear the wreckage of the high tides roar
And we can find that we don’t have to war no more | ST
