Growing up I was taught education was the key. My mom had me at fourteen. My grandparents ensured me that my life would be easier based on the amount of education I received. After a few mild hiccups I finally made it to high school, even though I lived in a bad neighborhood, school was my escape. I could shine without worrying or backstabbers. Then my grandmother started going blind, and so did I. Physically I could still see the streets, the buildings, and the cars, but mentally I stopped seeing my future. The part I played became very dark. I never knew until now that was my turning point. I may have grown up in ways, but I became lost with the world and what was in it. Who would have ever known my fall actually started with good intentions? | WT
