MY PHOENIX FOUND

Alone, I have soared,
through hollow and empty space,
with only the stars to guide my lost ways.
Thoughts of love, once torn,
from a hearts broken base,
strong foundations, never set,
only now rots away.
With dark layers of one’s hate,
like old cloth, meant to fray,
now revealing, what is fresh,
within the light of the new day.
She comes, all alone, rising up,
from the ash, smoke and flame,
wings on fire and spread wide,
this Phoenix, takes flight,
Now untamed. | JH

J. HUNTER WAS BORN IN GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA. HE DESCRIBES HIS FAMILY HAVING NO ROOTS AND THAT MONEY WAS BOSS — LOVE ALWAYS BEING BOUGHT AND SOLD FOR AN UPGRADE. HE KNEW THAT HE WAS MENTALLY DIFFERENT, SO HE LEFT EARLY TO FIND OUT. HUNTER RECENTLY RELEASED AND NOW WRITES AS A CITIZEN RETURNED.
