Like rain clouds that form from the ether
Turbulent tempests born from deepest blue sky’s
Knowing nothing of where they came from
Or where they must fall down
Welling up at anxieties edges
Roiling just so at the dam of inconvenience
Finally breaking free and overflowing
With the fracture in the seam of a breaking heart
They run and sputter and streak down
The rounded cheeks just past her eyes’ lashes
Which could hold them at bay no more
Becoming heavy and wet the lashes split and fold
Like a willows branches in Denver
After a sudden spring blizzard
Unforeseen heaviness too much to bear
Now the tree weeps for real
As it cannot hold in its despair
These inhumane droplets scream
Down her face again running
Like lemmings to the edge of her chin
And off into oblivion to careen and splash
On a distant shore shattering splattering
Upon the most ambivalent floor
Cold and hard and made of stone
That was crushed and beaten finally
Drowned hardened dried and constrained
Never again to receive the rain
That drips down and dribbles from the formerly
Clear blue skies the brilliant open spaces
So wondrously reflected in her
Montana blue eyes which harbored my endless love | JM
