The NEAR and FAR cards were printed by Cumbersome Multiples Press on a 1928 Chandler & Price letterpress using antique wooden type. PonyXpress writers wrote a response to the word on the cover. The cards were passed to the next writers and they used the prompt to write on the back.

There are things I have experienced
that seek not the light of day,
things that are shameful,
life defining,
mournful in the saddest way.

I dare not give them life
through oral words or phrase,
so in the shadows of my mind
is where they opt to stay,
well-hidden until the moment’s dead!
