Hey youngster,
I want to speak to you respectfully. I know that really matters. Stop running from that caring church; so many people need you. I hope you see your attitude is tearing down potential. You have so much to offer but are often full of anger. I know you feel a weight of shame it rages in behavior. You hear that you’re forgiven ... but you’ve given no allowance for forgiveness in your heart. I’m gonna need you to start.
All that crushing emotion you’ve stuffed in your gut, it’s a sleeping giant that’ll crush you, you must know that you’re enough; to face the conversations, some adults will show you love. You feel persecuted; they feel blind. No one understands the mind that silences itself.
Your drug use is a problem; son, it’s robbing your ability. You have to have some self-control ‘cause it will cost you your stability. The girl you love, the sports you like, the home you’re growing up in; it’ll all be gone, and you don’t belong in the prison system that will raise you.
If you’re responsible, you’ll earn the independence that you just keep fighting for. Time and consistency truly equal trust. Reward comes from obedience, an exercise of discipline, and I promise you it’s tough. At least in its beginning, but you will love it in the end, and you know its impact when ...
The sleeping giant finally woke, but got smaller as you spoke. You poured out from within because a man can have emotion.
Now keep living with that courage, your upbringing was a gift. Go lend a hand to a younger man and forget about your past. | HC

"Go lend a hand to a younger man and forget about your past." Whew! Yeah.
