I’ll use a flower petal for paper,
to write you this forgotten letter.
When days pass us by
my stitched-up heart keeps drifting back
to the moments you drowned my sorrows,
breathing me to life — with glazed eyes
encouraging me to press forward.
Capturing stillness, remembered for eternity,
a delayed reflection, silhouetting a promised love.
Through motionless time, our hearts severe,
strings of shattered dreams.
Seeking a fervency which crashes upon
the doors of twilight serenades.
Burning around secret turnings of the soul;
sunset lips set fire to damaged pasts,
mending broken memories of happiness.
I’ll place a seal upon this forgotten letter
from the flower petal used for paper. | JT
