When we are born into the world, our story is told in the stars. I find myself looking into the night sky, and I can feel the movement of the earth and envision our ancestors; in that moment I imagine future generations looking into the same cosmos. I consider the hardships, the struggles we faced to bring us to this point. Would are ancestors approve? We all face choices—some bring joy and some sorrow. What will time tell? How will our actions affect future generations? I would like to tell myself that life is meaningless and nothing really matters.
Every morning, I find myself waking up to eat some rice and raw vegetables, and drink a half glass of milk. I never considered the cows or the farmers, or how far we have come. Think of the amount of work, the hands it took to allow me and others to enjoy that milk, the rice, and those vegetables.
We are linked in wonder contemplating the meaning of life. After years of reflection, I have found peace and learned acceptance. Being born into this world is a blessing. Hopefully we all find peace and in the end can accept our choices. | TN
