The burdens of my youth
had been bestowed upon me
to crush and destroy my childish will.
The heaviest of which possessed no weight at all!
It was not until a time of resolute desperation
that I understood that the act of supporting
this crushing weightlessness
was conditioning my mind and my spirit
to withstand life’s inevitable trials,
and be thankful for the hard life
