What’s good, young life,
I am you, and you are me. Who I am is not who I was. Who I was, is not who I am. Time will reveal the fake, from the real. The truth from falsehood. Remain true to you.
Where you are headed is a road filled with obstacles of tremendous proportions! You will encounter snakes, rats, and demons disguised as friends, family, and love interests. Remain true to you.
There will be other paths, some less traveled, some smooth and easy to travel. But the path you are on is laced with violence, hate, greed, and deception. You will feel hurt and betrayed but that’s the life you will choose. Remain true to you.
In the end, you will persevere. Your faith and belief in God through it all, will be your true peace and prosperity. Even as I write this letter to you 38 years later (from the confines of this cell, knowing what I know now), it is the path you must take, for it is written. Through it all — the highs and the lows, the ups and the downs. I am sincerely proud of the man you’ve turned out to be. A man of substance, morals, values, and integrity.
So all I ask of you, is to remain true to me.
Salam,
Amir’whadi Hassan
